Tell-tail placement for Radial

I searched the forum and internet for info on where to place tell-tails on my Radial sail, but came up with nada. Any suggestions/advice? Someone told me to put two about a foot aft from the luff: one above the cunningham grommet almost in line with the bottom batten and another in line with the middle batten. I was also told to put one near the top batten along the leech for downwind sailing. Is this correct or does anyone have any other options, corrections, or improvements to these suggestions.
Thanks!

Thanks! I should have tried the variant spelling when I searched. This English teacher has parsed the word as 'tails that tell something...." and not 'tales that are told by the sail.' From my reading though, I notice that the spelling is not fixed in the articles, some sailor-writers even mix both spellings in the same article. The links you posted are very helpful.
