Is Laser 3000 getting less popular?

Hi there,

I am just very curious... I saw someone sailing Laser 3000 in my club over 2 weekends ago... It looks real cool with its asymmetric spin flying. So, I went to the URL http://www.lasersailing.com/ to check this boat out.

Then I notice that under 'The Range', Laser 3000 is not mentioned. Only Laser 2000 & 4000 are printed there.. This prompts me a thought on whether the manufacturer is no longer producing Laser 3000.

Anyone knows?

The laser 3000 is no longer produced by performance sail craft. It is now built by Vandercraft and is called a V3000s. Apparently the sails on the Vandercraft boats are made by North and cost 2/3 of what laser charged for sails.

Thanks LPW for the information. I got it now. But I am a curious cat. Just wonder why Performance Sail Craft stopped producing Laser 3000 alone and not Laser 2000, Laser 4000.. They are all the thousands '000' series

If you know of the reason, do let me know..
