I just want to remind everyone that the deadline for voting on the four proposed ILCA Class Rule changes is tomorrow (July 31)! For those that haven't yet, now is the time to vote on these proposals! Please take a few minutes to go to http://www.laserinternational.org/rules2006.htm and vote on these changes.
As a further reminder, for your vote to count you MUST be a Class Member. Part of the voting form includes your name and the district in which you reside and the ILCA office uses this information to contact, in the case of North America, Sherri and Jerelyn to verify membership. If you want your vote to count and are not a Class Member (and live in the North American Region), then you can go to http://www.laser.org/join-the-class-2.php and join online.
Of the four proposed changes, the first (for the builder supplied boom sleeve) has seen the most discussion with several threads here at The Laser Forum. For those still on the fence, please check out those threads to get the range of opinions on the fitting.
Your vote IS important! The 2005 rule changes passed with less than 320 Class Members voting - out of some 12,000 worldwide (see the results at http://www.laserinternational.org/rules2005.htm )! In addition, to pass a proposed rule change must be approved by 2/3 of those voting. So, your vote DOES count!! Please take a few minutes and vote on these changes!!
Thanks!!!
