Improving old-style vang

I've done a lot of searching on this forum to find out how to improve the old-style vang. There is some good info but not what I would call a step-by-step, detailed procedure. I found a couple of systems I would like to try at this link http://www.wvaegir.nl/newrig_2.html but I need a bit more detail. On page 4, figure 2, where do I terminate the red and blue ends with the small bowline loops in them?. I'm assuming the similar loops in figure 3 whould terminate to the same location?

Thanks very much if you can help.

I'm having a blast with my 77 laser that was new to me this spring.

Re: Improving old-style vang

Tie them around the vang tang on the mast, make the bowlines small enough so they don't ride up on the lower vang block too high
